ShakeAlert® Ready

ShakeAlert Ready is a collaborative initiative that provides life-saving earthquake preparedness information in outdoors and free-choice learning environments (ShakeAlert Ready Outdoors),  K-12 schools (ShakeAlert Ready Schools), and to trained emergency management volunteers (ShakeAlert Ready CERT).

ShakeAlert, the nation’s only public earthquake early warning system, provides potential seconds of warning when strong shaking is expected. ShakeAlert Ready safety ambassadors can use resources found here to communicate the importance of earthquake preparedness and taking an immediate protective action, such as Drop, Cover, and Hold On, when people feel shaking or get an alert, because seconds matter!
