ShakeAlert® Ready CERT

About ShakeAlert® Ready CERT

Emergency management practitioners, including Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, understand the importance of building individual and community preparedness for and resilience to a wide variety of hazards, including earthquakes.
Being ShakeAlert Ready can save lives!

ShakeAlert Ready CERT training resources—developed by emergency managers, CERT members, earthquake early warning scientists, and professional communicators—are designed to be modular to suit local CERTs and the amount of time available for training. All resources have a primary objective—to teach people how to be prepared for and respond safely when they feel shaking or get an alert that can offer seconds of warning to take a protective action.

CERT members are important public safety ambassadors who are well-positioned to offer potentially life-saving information about ShakeAlert to others in their communities, because seconds matter
